What is This World Coming to?

If you know Jesus as your savior, then you are probably asking the same question. What IS this world coming to? For sure, it’s coming to something!

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. (Acts 17:31) There’s a day coming when the risen Savior will return as the righteous judge, and that’s what this world is coming to.

A snapshot of where we stand right now in 2024 shows a world that is adrift in an ocean of evil, and the shores of righteousness are fading off into the distance and will soon not be visible anymore. Righteousness was in view in our lifetime, but the emerging generation has never seen it.

Here’s where it’s all headed: The “broad way that leadeth to destruction” will narrow down as it gets to the end, and the world will be funneled into the judgment.

For he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth. (Ps. 96:13b)

The path of His righteousness and truth also has a broad mouth through Jesus. The prophets, the Bible, the Holy Spirit and faithful believers share the gospel of Jesus. But the majority have willingly missed it. They travel the wrong path. Not only that, they hate the true and righteous road of the gospel of Christ and those who walk it.

But we read the “back of the book,” and who wins? And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. (Rev. 19:11)

As we watch righteousness disappear from the world we live in, know that God has a purpose. He is storing up wrath. He is currently adjusting the contrast between righteousness and evil. He is preparing for the faithful and true end that He’s already told us about. He will make His glory known. It will be vivid, and unless we have new immortal incorruptible bodies (which believers will have), we won’t be able to endure the brightness of His purity or the sight of His wrath on the ungodly.

Jesus said three times in the book of Revelation, “Behold, I come quickly.” If you have never confessed your sin and turned to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you must do it soon. Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2 Cor. 6:2b) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6) Call on Him for salvation now.

From your heart, pray, “Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and you are righteous. I know that without you, there is no hope for my soul. I am sorry for my sins. Please forgive me and come into my life to be my Lord and Savior. I surrender my life to you.” If you pray this and mean it with your heart, tell someone whom you know is a believer so they can be encouraged and help you get to know Him better.
