Remember the story of Chicken Little—how he was convinced the sky was falling when an acorn fell on his head? He panicked and stirred up his friends to panic with him. Of course, the sky did not fall, and the lesson is not to jump to conclusions and spread fear based on unfounded beliefs.
After all that, you might think I’m about to tell you everything is OK and the sky is not falling. But you live in the same world I do, and if you’ve paid any attention to the news in the past year, you know that the sky is set to fall!
However, I am here to tell you not to panic. There is a God in heaven, and unlike the Chicken Little story, there’s an escape route before the sky falls during the coming 7-year tribulation period that the book of Revelation talks about. It tells you what the falling sky will look like. You already see the dark clouds forming as it approaches: Economic collapse, great earthquakes, famine, hailstorms, war and bloodshed, a plague of sores, a scorching sun so hot it burns people with fire, and more.
Now what about that escape route? It’s only available to those who have come to trust in and receive Jesus Christ as savior for the forgiveness of sins. It’s only for those who have become born-again believers in Christ. And I mean Christ alone. A born-again believer has come to realize there is no other path to God except through Jesus Christ. Read these verses to gauge if you’re among the saved from the coming wrath of God.
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matt. 7:13-14) What is that narrow way you have to go through? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
If those verses offend you, you have not become a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and the sky is falling. Start preparing.
Some of you know for certain that Jesus is your savior and Lord. Before the tribulation, you will experience the escape. The rapture. It will happen in the twinkling of an eye (1 Cor. 15:52). When is that, you ask? You’ve been taught that there is no way of knowing. We just know it’s before the tribulation starts.
But there are clues as to the time of year in the Bible. What are those clues? Richmond just wrote a white paper on that. Click here to read.
If Jesus is not your savior because you’ve never accepted Him into your life, I can tell you when the 7-year tribulation will start. After the rapture. What we call the rapture, you might call “the great disappearance.” All over the world, folks will disappear because Jesus came and called them up to heaven to escape what’s ahead on earth. The instant disappearance of millions will be all the news. After that, the sky will fall, and everyone will be a Chicken Little. And they will be right.
